| 内容記述 | In this research, the thoughts of Taiwanese breast cancer patients regarding their families are clarified, and patient support is taken under consideration. The subjects were 10 patients subsequent to breast cancer surgery. Data was gathered by means of semi-structured interviews, and analysis was performed based on qualitative and inductive methods. The thoughts of breast cancer patients toward their families were divided into these categories: “relationships with family, relatives and quasi-relatives become closer”, “family receive the same impact as myself”, “concerned about family”, “family provides strength to fight the disease”, and “thoughts about the family change”. From the experience of contracting breast cancer, family relationships are reexamined and family ties are strengthened. By receiving inspiration and support from families, patients receive strength from the family to fight the disease. Family problems are brought to the forefront as a result of contracting the disease, and cancer is treated as a family problem. It is suggested that there is a need for nurses to understand the impact on both the patient and the family, to help to connect the changes in family relationship triggered by the contracting of the disease with the patient’s will to be cured, and to help with the progress of adjustment of roles within the family. | |||||
